Lana’i Animal Rescue Center, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization based on Lana’i, is seeking a fulltime or part time veterinary istant/technician for our cat sanctuary. Sanctuary is a 15,000 sq. ft fully enclosed area that is home to approximately 375 residents. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in the veterinary/shelter field. Duties will include: isting the DVM during examinations and procedures, administration of daily medications; isting/performing blood draws, fecal exams, cytology, urinalysis, and other diagnostics; isting with all aspects of spay/neuter surgery, anesthetic induction, surgical prep, and recovery; performing routine dentals, and monitoring anesthesia. This person will also oversee and manage the animal care staff with regard to treatment and care of animals; monitor the overall health of cats; responsible for identifying cats that are ill or in need of veterinary care; maintain complete and accurate medical records; maintain inventory as needed for clinic; follow all established medical protocols and procedures.
